TabPark - Privacy Policy
TabPark ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you visually manage and organize your browser tabs. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
The short version: We only collect what's necessary to make cloud sync work. We don't sell your data, we don't track your browsing, and we don't run analytics.
Effective Date: February 11, 2026
1. Data We Collect
If you use TabPark without an account (no sign-in):
All your data (tabs, groups, workspaces) is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage.
We collect no data whatsoever in this mode.
If you create an account or sign in:
Email address — provided during sign-up or obtained from your Google account.
Display name and profile photo URL — obtained from your Google account if you sign in with Google.
Tab and workspace data — your saved tab URLs, tab titles, group names, and workspace configurations, synced to the cloud so you can access them across devices.
Timestamp — the date and time of your last sync.
2. How We Use Your Data
Cloud synchronization — to sync your tab data across devices when you sign in.
Account authentication — to identify you and protect your data so only you can access it.
Email communication — if you opt in, we may send product updates or announcements to the email address associated with your account.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the TabPark service.
3. Data Storage and Security
Local data is stored on your device via the Chrome Storage API and never leaves your browser unless you enable cloud sync.
Cloud data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, secured with Firebase Authentication. Your data is protected by security rules that ensure only you can read or write your own data.
Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device and are used solely to communicate with Firebase services.
All data transmission occurs over HTTPS (encrypted in transit).
4. Third-Party Services
TabPark uses the following third-party services:
Google Firebase Authentication — for account sign-in and identity management. Subject to Firebase Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Cloud Firestore — for cloud data storage. Subject to the same Firebase/Google policies above.
We do not share your data with any other third parties.
5. Data Retention
Your cloud data is retained as long as your account exists.
If you sign out, your cloud data remains stored but is no longer actively synced.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us (see below).
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access your data — all your data is visible within the extension.
Delete your data — uninstall the extension to remove all local data, and contact us to request deletion of cloud data.
Use TabPark without an account — cloud sync is entirely optional. The extension is fully functional without signing in.
7. Permissions Explained
tabs — to read your open tabs so you can save them to TabPark.
storage — to save your tab data locally on your device.
identity — to enable Google Sign-In for cloud sync.
TabPark does not access your browsing history, read page content, or monitor your activity in any way beyond reading the URLs and titles of open tabs when you explicitly save them.
8. Children's Privacy
TabPark is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top. Continued use of TabPark after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
